[Infographic] 2014 Retail Marketing and Promotional Calendar

As a retailer you know how important it is to have your marketing and promotional calendar planned six to 12 to 18 months out. And, we know that filling in those dates is just half the battle. So, if you haven’t gotten started for 2014, you may already be feeling a bit nauseous.

Before you get started, a few things you need to consider:

  1. First, be sure to choose the retail promotional event that is most relevant to your business. By that, we mean, if you’re a brand that makes chocolate bunny rabbits, then you probably won’t want to spend tons of cash on 4th of July promotions. This should go without saying, but it’s important to mention.
  2. Second, get a marketing calendar of record if you don’t already have one – something that is centrally located and easily accessible to both the marketing and merchandising teams. And we’re not talking about an excel document. Those are confusing, outdated, and impossible to maintain a single version.
  3. Finally, make sure your marketing calendar plugs into your digital asset management system. This means, you should be able to view promotional assets by clicking through your marketing calendar. Trust us, it will make promotional campaign continuity across all channels and teams involved much more accurate and efficient.
